Schedule a Class Visit
Thank you for your interest in scheduling a class visit to the library or a visit by library staff to your classroom (in person or virtual).
Please note the following requirements:
- Class visit services are limited to schools, groups, etc. that are located within the Rochester Public Library service area.
- A minimum of 10 students is required.
- Each class or group may schedule up to three library hosted visits per school year.
- Class visits are limited to one hour unless students are working on a research project or other activity.
- Appropriate adult supervision must be provided by the school for the duration of the class visit. We recommend a minimum of one teacher/aide/parent helper for every 8 students.
- Due to updates in library data privacy policies, if library card registrations are requested prior to a class visit, a Memorandum of Understanding between the school and RPL will need to be signed. Please note: Rochester Public Schools has a signed MOU for the 2024-2025 school year on file. Please contact Heather at hacerro@rplmn.org to start the process.
To sign up for a class visit, please see the Class Visit Calendar. Scroll to the month you would like to visit, select an available time slot (indicated by an orange box), and complete the form. If you are interested in having library staff visit your classroom (in person or virtual) please make a note in the form about this preference.
If you are not interested in a formal presentation or other activity as part of your visit, you are welcome to bring your class anytime the library is open.
If you have any questions about class visits, please contact Heather Acerro, Head of Youth Services at hacerro@rplmn.org or 507-328-2339.
